Postpartum Midwifery Consultation

Supplement your care with personalized attention from a Licensed Midwife who can answer your questions, share natural remedies and alternatives, and offer support tailored to your individual needs, all in the comfort of your own home.

Postpartum Care may include:
  • Support in healing your body after birth, including discussion about sitz baths, salves, how and when to stay in bed, bleeding and uterine cramping, swelling, etc.

  • Discussing various tests, procedures and choices that will be coming up in your baby's care, including tracking and/or supplementing Vitamin D levels, vaccinations, the newborn screen, bottles, pacifiers, appropriate weight loss and gain, etc.

  • Processing your birth story, discussing challenges in co-parenting and changes in your relationship, how to differentiate between normal baby blues and a more concerning postpartum depression, and more.

  • Clinical monitoring of birth parent, including blood pressure, pulse, uterine height, bleeding, and healing of perineum or incision.

  • Clinical monitoring of newborn, including tracking baby's heart rate, breathing rate and ease, lung clarity, weight loss & gain, and evaluation and treatment of jaundice.

Postpartum midwifery care visits usually last 1.5 to 2 hours, with a fee of $165 per visit. *
